Children’s author and founder of Split Perspectivz CIC

Using storytelling and creativity to empower children and families.

Natalie Reeves Billing is an award winning children’s author and social entrepreneur whose work uses storytelling and creativity to tackle literacy, wellbeing and social inequality. As the founder of Split Perspectivz CIC and creator of The Animates initiative, she has developed imaginative programmes that support children and families across the UK.

Natalie founded Split Perspectivz in 2020 with the Builder Book project, which delivers book boxes and creative packs to children in underserved communities. What began as a local initiative has grown into a national programme supporting literacy, creativity and emotional wellbeing. Since its launch, more than 250,000 books and 50,000 creative packs have been distributed, with thousands of Builder Book Boxes reaching families across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

Her work has expanded to include projects that combine creativity with social impact. Through Planet Pack, she has helped connect storytelling with sustainability and food education, while The Animates introduces children to innovation and technology through books, workshops and school roadshows. Natalie has also partnered with organisations such as Samaritans and Boat of Hope to develop projects that help young people explore emotions and mental wellbeing through art and storytelling.

To date, Natalie’s initiatives have reached more than 16,000 children directly through workshops and community activities, with thousands more benefiting from resources delivered through schools and youth programmes. Her work has raised significant funding for literacy and creative learning and has been recognised nationally, including with a Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award for her contribution to children’s wellbeing.

Through imagination, empathy and determination, Natalie has shown how creativity can open doors for young people and strengthen communities. Her work demonstrates the power of storytelling not only to educate, but also to inspire confidence, resilience and opportunity.
