Co-founder of CoppaFeel! (Young Changemaker)
A Lifesaver and Game-Changer for Breast Cancer Awareness
Kris Hallenga was a visionary activist who transformed breast cancer awareness in the UK. Diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at just 23, she co-founded CoppaFeel! in 2009 alongside her twin sister, Maren, to ensure that young people understood the importance of early detection and self-checks. Refusing to accept that breast cancer was only an "older person's disease," Kris made education, empowerment, and bold awareness campaigns her mission, helping to save countless lives.
From launching the Uni Boob Team and the “What Normal Feels Like” campaign to using digital tools like the Boob Bot and text reminders, Kris spearheaded a movement that normalized self-examinations and encouraged people to take control of their health. Her passing in 2024 was a huge loss, but her legacy lives on through CoppaFeel! and the culture shift she inspired. Her fearless approach, unwavering determination, and life-saving advocacy will continue to impact generations to come.
